funky bright geometrics

I guess I have been taking a break from the usual organic flowing shapes that I normally work with to experiment with some geometric ones! I've discovered a couple things.. 1. negative space is sooo fascinating! I love all the shapes that I made without, at first, realizing that I was making a shape there. 2. Alternating patterns... you could alternate endlessly. I always think back to a class I had on gothic cathedrals where we talked about how at some point in history..of course I can't remember the exact date..it became the style to alternate the shapes of the columns in the arcade. 3. You can really make complex designs with the most simple shapes. almost everything in these pieces, started out by using the circle or square tool in Illustrator.
Anyways, I had these printed up as square note/greeting cards for a xmas present this year and was really pleased with the way they came out. But I can imagine they would also make pretty funky pillows.. or the striped ones, would make some really edgy purses. or leggings if you could rock it!
